Lana Rhoades is being condemned by people in the crypto industry for her role in an NFT project called Cryptosis, which features 6,069 NFT cartoon images of the adult film star. Rhoades is accused of withdrawing a large sum of ethereum (ETH) from the project, according to a video published by Coffeezilla.

The claim is that Rhoades touted her NFT collection as a “lucrative investment,” but after the withdrawal and myriad statements stemming from the project’s Discord channel, belief in the Cryptosis NFT project has plummeted.

Coffeezilla and others have called the move a “rug pull,” which is a term widely used in the crypto industry to describe a project that raises a large sum of value, but then the creator abandons the project and takes the initial funds raised as well.

In another video, the Youtuber Coffeezilla’s video description says that “Rhoades is not new to crypto, she has done several tokens in the past, [as] Lana has even helped with other NFT project rug pulls such as Stickdix, Titscoin, and Pawgcoin.”

Rhoades is apparently upset about the accusations, and she published a few tweets about the Youtuber after the video had been published. “Youtubers are f***ing sickos, diseases of the internet who will do anything and say anything for views,” the adult film star said.

I have a 1-month-old baby to take care of, just what I wanted to do was scam ppl, get the f*** out of here with this bullsh**. Just bc a project does not go as planned does not mean there was any ill intent behind it. Ppl are sick trying to cause trouble for views.

Rhoades began her professional adult film career in 2016 at the age of 19. She left the professional industry by late 2017. She has continued to be open about exploitation and abuse in the porn industry. Later that year, Rhoades was dismissed from LA Direct Models, her representative agency, after an incident involving another performer.

In 2019, Rhoades was the most searched actress on Pornhub, garnering 345 million views. In February 2020, Rhoades was hired by Brazzers as a marketing consultant. That November, Ellen von Unwerth directed her photoshoot for the cover of Playboy.

In 2021, she began to promote the cryptocurrency PAWGcoin, and developed an NFT image project in November of that year which was launched in 2022. After the launch, she transferred out 509 Ethereum (ETH) worth $1.5m, abandoning her NFT project following the $1.8m launch, according to internet investigator Coffeezilla.

Rhoades co-hosts the podcast 3 Girls 1 Kitchen and has designed a lingerie line with Yandy.

Lana reportedly promised the value of the non-fungible token would "increase" making it a "lucrative investment for holders that they could sell for more than they paid to mint." The roadmap promised to award investors with various incentives if the sales reached a certain level. Rewards included ownership of areas of virtual land on Decentraland and Sandbox, signed merchandise, and personalized messages from Lana. The adult actress claimed the brand and its value would increase when more models joined Cryptosis to design their own lines. When it sold out, the official account made a post with the caption, "We are officially Sold-out! We have a call today in the discord to discuss CRYPTOSIS's future".

But after all those promises, Lana abandoned the project and disappeared from the Cryptosis Discord channel, reportedly swiping around $1.5 million worth of cryptocurrency in the process. YouTuber Coffeezilla discussed this issue in a video and claimed that around 6,000 people had been rugged by Lana. Multiple buyers shared their stories of loss on the Cryptosis channel. One alleged victim said he had spent $4,000 on a Christmas Lana NFT. He said, "I spent what I cannot lose. Man, I am left with $2,000 only. No job and have a two-year-old son. If only someone bought my Christmas Lana."

Coffeezilla continued and posted a screenshot of another one of Lana's tweets, saying, "Lana argues her team, (and herself?) 'deserve' to keep the money, because they 'worked on the project'. I guess working on a project till mint and then running away bc "negativity", means you deserve $1.5 million. lmao." When users slammed Lana for abandoning the project people spent so much money on, she deactivated her Twitter account. "Lana just deactivated her twitter, when everyone just wants her to return the money she made. Unbelievable," Coffeezilla concluded, adding a screengrab of Lana's deactivated account.
