Backstory
Born and raised in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Manhattan, anything Emma ever desired was just an ask away. With an African American billionaire father and a mother with ties to the Italian mob, Emma has always been aware of the weight of her parents’ names on her shoulders. Although they cared deeply for her, she felt smothered by their expectations and choices for her, especially her trash can of an apartment at 432 Park Avenue. In school, Emma was devoted to her athletic extracurriculars, quickly becoming known as a fierce competitor and elite athlete in cheerleading, volleyball, and tennis. The wall of her childhood bedroom was covered in medals and trophies showcasing her achievements. She received passable grades in school, mostly due to expensive private tutors. Sick and tired of being defined by her parent’s legacies, Emma decided to set out to make her own.
Although her father expressly forbade it, Emma joined a boxing gym for rich, high-class clients when she was in high school. Like every sport she tried, Emma excelled at it and immensely enjoyed learning how to throw and take a punch. Luckily, her father was often away on business trips and never noticed her bruises. Her mother was proud and kept it secret, jokingly saying Emma was reconnecting with her “Italian heritage”.
